8 Steps to Run a Successful Short Term Rental

Running a short-term rental is not as difficult as you think it is! Here are a few steps you can take to ensure you have a successful business.

    1. Find a good quality cleaning service.

You can do it yourself, too, if you’re sure you can get every inch of your property clean. Everyone loves cleanliness. EVERYONE.

    1. Know when the popular dates, like big conventions or holiday season, are.

Make sure you have your property available and ready for guests.

    1. Take great pictures!

You need to make your profile as attractive as possible. Since pictures are the only things your potential guests can see, they’re your only hope.

    1. Consider using special locks for your property.

This will save you time and effort, in case your guests arrive at inconvenient hours.

    1. Be in the right place at the right time.

It will be a lot easier if your property is located in a frequently visited area of the country. Not to say that it’s impossible to find guests in a quieter town, but more tourists definitely mean high chance of getting bookings.

    1. Set an acceptable price.

This doesn’t mean you have to always set the price lower than you had expected. Think about the location, cleanliness, and the state of your property. For example, if you spent a lot of money on decoration, new furniture and safety, it would be reasonable to set the price higher than the market price.

    1. Provide comfort.

Stock up the necessities, but also include some random little things your guests can enjoy, like coffee or tea, books, movies, etc. People will feel welcomed and enjoy their stay more.

I am a real estate agent with many owners contact. It came to my mind in managing and economies of scale.
There are many small time investor owning additional one or two properties. It may not be practical for them to managed it . More so these rich or working class investor would not want to take the trouble.
Their unit may be left vacant partly due to the soft market.
Hence it make sense for me to capitalise on my expertise and contacts to coordinate and use the principles of economies of scale to expand my scope of service and business.
